Fruit Incest

I kid you not, there’s a real pair of signs just like this I occasionally pass by. The fact that this apparent funeral home looks like an old bakery from the outside doesn’t help much either.

This is also the last comic of 2009, and I find it fitting to end the year with a simple comic: simple joke, simple artwork. It’s one of the simplest looking ones I’ve done in a while, which just goes to show I still have a little of Christmas vacation left in me. It’ll probably stick around for another five to six months.

Everyone enjoy the new year, cause I’ve got a good feeling about 2010. According to Back to the Future, we’ll have flying cars and self tying shoes in just five years. I don’t know about you but I’ve been waiting for this my whole life.

Just how did Sarah survive a badly drawn explosion? Are the evil elves attempting to silence a freedom fighter at the expense of their Santa pawn by blowing them both up, or are they frustrated their evil nemesis has corrupted their hero through a brutal kamikaze mission? What does any of this have to do with Christmas? You’ll probably never know the answer to most of these questions, but like most of my comics, I find it’s best for each person to make their own version of the FIniverse. Anyone who accuses me of being lazy and confusing, it’s okay, because I’m lazy and confusing on purpose.

Also, I replaced my inking pen, so if you pay attention to detail you might notice the lines are less blotchy or something. I don’t know what fresh pens can do.

It’s such a relief to do quick four panel gags again after so many longer comics. This would normally be a joyous occasion, but it’s been ruined somewhat by my realizing I forgot the lower puff stripe on Sarah’s coat for a few of the early panels. I couldn’t even imagine her doing cute and sexy poses like that in Part 4 without her stripe. It’s just a plain red coat without it. ;_;

We’ve met Crystal, Shaggy, and Bernard the elves, each appearing at least twice so far. Contrary to popular believe, Santa doesn’t have a giant workshop in the middle of an icy wasteland, but just a slightly big cabin in the Alaskan mountains. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Santa only has three elves, just that his or her house is only big enough for three while the rest of the elf civilization communicates via wi-fi.

But what about their fourth guest? Is it Frosty? No, Frosty only lived for five minutes before melting due to him stupidly writing his memoirs by a fireplace (he said it was good atmosphere). His short life created a legacy that led to several “Whatchu talkin’ bout?” stereotypes and racism for his poor descendants. Eventually, they made their way to Santa’s home, who happily lets the Snowman clan live outside the cabin where they can survive indiscriminately for years or maybe even centuries, leading to the current snowman mascot, Fraustus.

You’ll never see Fraustus again most likely, so this comic blog is dedicated to Santa’s fourth helper. The one who gets the least credit.
